The Flying Question

"Why are we so lonely up here? Can't we fly in pairs?"

Many have traveled around the globe using various kinds of airlines. Me included, just that I never take Malaysia Airlines anymore after they shifted to KLIA, which was years back already.

The last time I placed my ass on the mushy cushion of MAS's Boeing, surrounded by gorgeous females in the famous flowery-pattern blue kebayas was like ten years back. At that time, the Subang International Airport was still heavily used. Took a few trips to and forth Kuala Lumpur-Kuantan route, I never felt any better.

They were right with their slogan - MH, Malaysian Hospitality. They were right with their orange juices and briyanis and souvernirs they gave off on board. I totally was satisfied.

"You're damn right we're damn right about MH."

And now I decided to fly MAS again after so long.

I am going to Kota Kinabalu sometime in July to visit some certain 'very important inviduals'. And much to my awareness, I need to be very comfortable during the two and a half hour flight, crossing the great South China Sea so that I will have enough energy and not terribly annoyed by the flight in order to warmly present myself to her parents those very important individuals.

Apparently she finds KL-KK flight one too long to take.

So here's the thing: assuming I've already got myself a ticket to KK from Sentral Kuala Lumpur dated July 12th at 1300, I could not hesitate but to ask these few questions -

  1. Where do I best check in? KL Sentral or KLIA Domestic Terminal? Why?
  2. Assuming I am a 24-year old female blonde that knows nothing geometrically about KLIA infrastructure, how long do I take until I finally reach the check in counter (if I am to check in in KLIA) and the departure gate?
  3. The ERL - how long does it take to reach the arrival platform in KLIA from Sentral KL? I heard something about the door of ERL, is there a button to push in order for the door to work? I just don't wanna look like a complete fool in front of other commuters. And I want to be the first who operate that bloody door hahahahahahaha. Ok enough.

Well that's it for now. Thanks in advance to those who might be answering my call for answers. Much obliged!

And one more thing. Where do I find the jacket/trench coat like above?

my first time here..
so ok, done reading your post, let me see if i can be of any help to your questions. :)

1. i may suggest you just check in at KLIA domestic terminal, because sometimes, (sometimes) your luggage does get stranded at KL Sentral and you'll end up luggageless upon arrival in KK. you wont want that to happen would u? :)
2. hmm depending on where you 'park'. if you go by ERL, you'll be at the lowest floor of which u have to go 5 floors up..(if my memory serves me right) departure is at the 5th floor..yea, 5th floor..once checking in, departure hall for domestic flight is on the very left side of the building..you'll have to walk a bit further inside. since it's MAS, the gate wont be too far compare to A.Asia..you wont get lost, just have your tickets with you.
3. from KL Sentral, unless they've finally made the ERL faster now to 27 minutes, it's exactly 28 minutes. do not worry bout the button, you will not miss it. :)

enjoy your journey!

I can't believe it's been THAT long since you've flown MAS. They're pricey but they ARE worth it. All the best on that trip of yours (: Way to impress them Very Important Individuals! LOL.

RYC - Loneliness is a state of mind. Or so I'd like to believe. Tonight's been rough but things'll get better. Not to worry. That which does not kill, right? (;
