The Kind of Woman

"I would want to be the person you love."

I stopped sipping the hot coffee, took a stare at her and proceeded to take two sips of the hot black coffee again before placing the cup back on its base.

"Really," I said. "What makes you think you can be one?"

"Because I," she said as she smiled and rested her chin on one folded hand on the table and pointed a finger from the same hand at me before continuing to speak in so much confidence, "I know how to be your lady."

"Really," I replied. "Tell me about what sort of lady I want."

"Smart, intelligent, good looking, wise, with distinctive English usage, witty, the kind who makes you proud et cetera."

I pulled an annoying smile.

* * *

I do not have any specific requirement for women, as to speak from my own perspective, because from where I see it, by having requirements they will only forbid me from accepting the flaws that may appear in the women that I will be having my attention on at any particular time in my life. And this of course will lead me to an end from which I figure I will be only with myself and no one else.

So what do I really look in a woman?

Nothing. Really.

Nothing at all.

* * *

"So I am not even a spouse material for you?"

I stood next to her and sink a finger into her long hair, slowly running it down to her chin before lifting her face gently facing mine. My thumb wiped her tears away.

"You could have been, really," I told her. "You could have been that wonderful person."

"Then what did not permit me from?"

I smiled at her slowly and stared into her lovely hazel eyes and at the tears that came down her cheeks over unlimited supply of frustrations from the devastating failure she just came to experience. She looked so bloody lovely.

"Tell me," she said, "tell me, for I am wanting to know what films us in between."

"Nothing does."

"Then over what reasons?"

I placed my warm palm against her cold cheek. And I told her.

Mohamad Nazmi Zaidi said...

you will have more sympathy towards her if she ends up with me but me being with not even the slightest piece of love towards her.

Mohamad Nazmi Zaidi said...

she deserves a chance, doesn't she?

Mohamad Nazmi Zaidi said...

well of course she does..just that I did not give her any.

Noora Darmawan said...

what would u feel then, if u were in her shoes?

Mohamad Nazmi Zaidi said...

i rather stay in mine. i don't need to make a decision just over the cause of total pity.

what would she feels if i accept her anyway and she gets to later know that all these while my smiles were fake?

she does not need to be won over something she did not win. im sorry, but that's just the way life today rolls.

for all this while, i thought that if someone confesses his/her feeling to us, we should always give he/she a chance. maybe we never love them, but we can try to love them.

neway.. thanks for it coz i learnt new thing in my life =) i'm waiting for ur marlboro man part 4... such a nice story..

that is wrong, dear. never give an opportunity of hope. never.

or you could end up breaking someone's heart badly.
